Safety

Club10

When riding with the club or in a group, it is great fun, but certain safety precautions must be adhered to. Please take note of the following guidelines:-

  • Ride safely and be considerate of other road users – promote a pro-bike attitude.
  • A Road Captain and Sweeper is appointed for all rides, ensure that you stay within their confines
  • Allow enough braking distance between you and the next bike.
  • Ride in a group of 5 – 6 riders of similar capabilities to you. Ride in a single file with at least a 3 second braking distance between bikes.
  • Keep the bike behind you in view; slow down if you loose sight of them. This ensure that no-one gets lost.
  • Only overtake on the right, indicate your intentions to other riders and traffic.
  • If you are not riding all the way to the venue, ensure that both the Road Captain and Sweeper are aware of your intentions before commencement of the ride.
  • On faster and narrow sections of road, concentrate on the road ahead and not the bike ahead of you.
  • For your own safety please wear adequate and appropriate protective riding apparel. We promote ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time)
