Gees Sid, that's definitely not a system 6 that you're wearing Not even a system 2 - the plastic half commonly referred to as a "morsdop" is obviously missing. So it must be the original system 1.

I bought one and the sunvisor packed in within a few months and the helmet was replaced.
The new ones sun visor keeps on coming loose while riding which is a major hassle.
I am also informed by ryder in hillcrest that it doesnt work well with the rider comms available except for the new bmw comms designed specifically for the helmet (at double the price)

Thanks David. I have placed an order for two of these helmets, but it's taken 4 weeks already - no stock, which may be a good thing. I guess I'll look at the old system 5 helmet again. My wife & I have had this style for a few years. The new one is much lighter - and the helmet is half the price!

I have been riding with the "Shark evoline absolute series 2" for two months now. Awesome Helmet the are about R4000.00 to R4500.00. built in sun visor easy to operate. I live in Hillcrest so i was worried about the visor Misting up, does not fog up. has a coting on the inside clips in and out no problem. when it rains has a coating on the outside like water off a ducks back. When you are cruising admiring the scenary you just roll back the Chin piece all the way to the back, now it is a open face helmet. and at 140km in open face still great. Check it out on You tube

I looked at the helmet - very nice, but was quoted R5900! Where did you get it so cheap??

I just had to inform everyone that I've finally broken down and purchased 2 new Shark Evoline helmets. This after some intensive investigation into both the BMW system 6 and the Shark Evoline. Both helmets have their pros and cons, but Shark got the deal when my first wife (Elize) said that she preferred the Shark because it fitted her better (Big Head)(Thank goodness she never goes on the website)! She also liked the feature that the helmet face flipped all the way back and was balanced in the open position. The BMW s6 didn't do this. So, who am I to contradict the female buyer?
So far I'm enjoying the helmet immensly. I can use it as an openface on my LT and batten down the hatches on my GeeEss. If you want to see for yourself, check out youtube and type in shark evoline - you'll get all the info.
