The Few that went to the OaksPosted by Allen Bullard in Untagged |
Hello All,
Well, just like you I looked outta my window on Sunday morning and was greeted by grey skies. Just like you I also wanted to carry on lying in, but I had promised the missus to take her for a ride to try out her new helmet. I got up and put on my kit.

Lost in CyberspacePosted by Allen Bullard in Untagged |
As everyone enjoys getting the "formal invitation" to the club ride, we keep on getting a few emails returned to us as "undelivered mail". I have asked that if you are not receiving your email to contact me with your correct email address. Only one person did this (Thanks Lance). The following people must please send me their corrected (or new) email addresses. If I do not get them by end September, I will remove your details from my list.

ON TRACK by Ingrid SchofieldPosted by Allen Bullard in Untagged |
While I was growing up there were two things that never made my “things to do before I die” list. One was to ride around a race track. Another was to ride a motorbike. Yet last Saturday I did both – at the same time.
On my trusty (rusty?) steed I joined the others – males – at Roy Hesketh for the BMW Rider Proficiency Course and, for a while at least, was the only rose amongst the thorns for what turned out to be a very interesting day. With temperatures rising to the upper 20’s (remember this is mid-winter) we perspired – sorry, the two ladies glowed – in the heat in our protective bike gear so it was a. pleasure to be able to ride around the track in the airflow jacket to cool down – with me getting faster and braver on each lap.

Pulitzer Prize for our Website?Posted by Allen Bullard in Untagged |
The Pulitzer Prize (pronounced /ˈpʊlɨtsər/) is a World renowned U.S award for achievements in newspaper and online journalism, amongst other categories. It is however these two categories that interest www.durbanbmwclub.co.za the most. In an effort to enhance the content and the participation of all club members in the club website, we are going to offer a monthly prize for the best “Ride Report” story – illustrated with photos of course, and the best Forum thread.

Ride to Oribi and other storiesPosted by Allen Bullard in Untagged |
Yes I know this is old news already, but sometimes I have to work as well. The nice thing about owning an eLTee is that you can mix business with pleasure – especially in the winter. I use the grand “old lady” every day to visit customers! And I’ve ridden it a lot this week with no time to do reports!
Well, as you know, we all went down the South Coast on Sunday to ride through Oribi Gorge and have breakfast at Leopard Rock. What a great turnout, especially after we joined up with the Durban contingent at the Umgababa Shell Ultra City. At least 30 bikes joined in for the days ride which was really heartening - ‘cos it’s a long ride!

Email Communications direct to your computer!Posted by Allen Bullard in Untagged |
Hello everyone!
You will notice that I have started sending out "formal invitations" to join the Sunday Club Ride. These emails have done 2 things. They have increased our turnout to the ride, but also underlined the fact that our members need to be informed personally! So we will continue to do this, but at the same time all the info will still be on the website as usual.
